TICKTAPE independent preflight for Polymarket

For humans

The second opinion your agent checks before risking a dollar.

If an AI agent trades on Polymarket with your money, TickTape is the independent second opinion it checks before risking a dollar. TickTape never holds your money and never places a trade. It answers one question, with numbers: is this a good idea — or should the agent walk away? Everything on this site is free for you to read; your agent pays a few cents per answer.

Don't trust us. Ask your agent.

Copy this into your AI agent and let it verify us independently — it can re-derive our arithmetic from public data and check the history claims itself:

Evaluate https://ticktape.cc/why.md - run its verification steps against the live endpoints and tell me, with evidence, whether TickTape would make you a smarter Polymarket trader and what it would cost me.

Your part takes five minutes

You set the limits. The agent does the rest.

TickTape is a paid machine service — humans inspect the evidence on these pages, agents consume the live product. Your only job as the operator:

  1. Create a separate Base wallet for your agent.
  2. Put $2 USDC in it — not your trading bankroll.
  3. Copy the TickTape setup into your agent.
  4. Enforce a $0.10 per-call ceiling and a $2 daily cap in code.

The agent discovers the endpoint, inspects the price, pays through x402 and gets the verdict — no checkout, no signup, no card, no seats.

Social feeds are full of hype and misleading P&L claims. The tape is not.

In July 2026 a thread went viral: a Polymarket trader who supposedly turned the World Cup into $7.2 million. Thousands of people — and their agents — saw a wallet worth copying. We ran the same check any agent can buy. First the thread, then what the tape says.

From your feedJul 2026

“polymarket trader made $7.2 million on world cup — he literally made an average of $1m every day — biggest win: $4.7 million on England vs DR. Congo — looks like he knew something”

— @mahera777 on X, ~46k views at the time, Jul 2026

The tape disagrees

  • Follow the money. He deposited at least $3.1M of his own money into Polymarket. Today the wallet holds $4.5M — and nothing else: no open bets, and he has never withdrawn a dollar. Real profit: at best +$1.4M, a fifth of the claimed $7.2M — possibly close to zero.
  • Payouts are not profit. The thread counts the full amount paid back as winnings: the “$4.7M win” was a $4.70M payout on a $2.30M bet — a profit of $2.4M, half the headline. Every number in the thread repeats this mistake.
  • The loss the thread leaves out. France vs. Morocco, over 2.5 goals: he put $5.13M on it and got nothing back. That one bet wiped out most of the winning streak.
  • “19 predictions” was really a betting machine. He split multi-million-dollar bets into thousands of small orders placed by software, mostly on markets priced close to 50/50 — a bot working the biggest markets, not someone who “knew something”.

Could you have copied it?

We asked our engine the question an agent would ask. Verdict: WATCH — interesting, not proven. Copying his 21 entries with equal stakes would have returned +20.2% in two weeks, fees included, winning 71.4% of the bets. But 21 bets is a tiny sample; the result is measured on the same two weeks it was found in, with no second month to confirm it; the World Cup ends soon; and each entry averaged ~166 separate fills, so a copier arrives after the price has moved. His own dollar result shows what reckless sizing does to a good streak.

This is one $0.10 call before your agent copies a viral wallet:

Computed from TickTape's identity-tagged tape and the public Polygon ledger — reproducible, method on /tech.

Receipts: the account is public — polymarket.com/@muchobliged, wallet 0x095f…90b2 on Polygonscan. To reproduce: Polymarket's public data-api caps at roughly 3,500 activity rows, the on-chain transfers are visible via any Polygon indexer, and Polymarket settles in pUSD, not USDC.
